在芸芸藝術形式中，音樂與舞蹈本就關係密切。其中爵士樂源自新奧爾良的舞曲，以即興演奏著稱；而不同風格的街舞中亦常見即興表演。音樂與肢體語言可以如何交流對話、互相啟發？
《瞬．樂團–結構與即興第二回》致力推動音樂人與不同界別的藝術家合作，碰撞出創意火花。我們首個跨界工作坊結集一眾爵士樂手與舞者，提供一個難得的機會，讓現場音樂與街舞同場上演。
工作坊將舉行分享和交流環節，由爵士結他手及作曲家張駿豪（Teriver Cheung）淺談爵士樂的發展和即興演奏的特色。是次活動亦邀請到風格多元的本地舞蹈單位Jose & Kayi、Strangers和TS Crew，與爵士樂隊ET & Elliott共同示範演出。工作坊更會向美國長青音樂綜藝節目《靈魂列車》（Soul Train）致敬，於最後環節開放舞台，在現場樂隊演奏下，歡迎所有參加者一同soul jam！
Among all art forms, music and dance are closely related by their nature. Jazz music originates from dance music in New Orleans and is known for improvisation. It is also common to see improvising moves in different styles of street dance. How can the languages of music and the body movement speak to, and even inspire each other?
Ensemble Transience: Composition & Improvisation—Encore is dedicated to promote cross-disciplinary collaborations to spark creativity. Our first Crossover Workshop gathers jazz musicians and dancers, offering a rare chance for live music and street dance to take place on the same stage.
The workshop starts with a sharing session, in which jazz guitarist and composer Teriver Cheung introduces the development of jazz music and its unique element of improvisation. We also invite three local dance groups of diverse styles, Jose & Kayi, Strangers and TS Crew, to participate in a showcase with the jazz band ET & Elliott. In the last session, the workshop will pay tribute to the US long-running music-dance TV show Soul Train, opening up the stage to all participants to dance to the live music.

你有否希望在即興演奏中變得更「自由」，或苦於在創作中實踐新想法？資深音樂人邱立信（Nelson Hiu）以實驗音樂和自由即興知名；他將在是次工作坊中與參加者一同即興演奏，並分享他對於音樂和藝術的獨特見解。
邱立信將引導參加者重新審視、並探索解構種種規範的可能：音階、形式、時間、敘事，甚至我們一直視之為理所當然的美學。通過親身參與自由即興，這個三小時的活動旨在提供一種更開放、具叛逆精神的想法，並啟發參加者建立自己的審美觀。我們誠邀希望有所突破、挑戰自己的音樂人參加是次工作坊。
Do you struggle with being “free” in improvisation, or coming up with new ideas in your creative practices? In this workshop, established musician Nelson Hiu, most known for his specialty in experimental music and free improvisation, will jam with participants while sharing his unique insights into music and arts.
Nelson will guide participants to re-examine and explore the potential to deconstruct norms in music: scales, form, time, narrative, and even aesthetics that we have long taken for granted. Through hands-on improvisation exercises, this three-hour session aims to open up participants' ideas, and inspires them with the possibility of establishing one’s own aesthetic parameters through a rebellious mindset. We invite musicians who are looking for breakthroughs and would like to challenge themselves to join this workshop.

「瞬．樂團–結構與即興第二回」於元朗劇院舉行了《長夜｜日出：一次多感官沉浸式音樂體驗》，音樂會運用聲音景觀系統（soundscape），廣獲好評。是次工作坊專為業界及對聲音景觀系統有興趣人士而設。
活動邀請到《長夜｜日出》策劃人及作曲家張駿豪（Teriver Cheung）與音樂程序員何兆為 （Marcus Ho）對談，從音樂創作及實際運用的角度親身分享應用聲音景觀系統的經驗。何更會重現音樂會的聲音景觀系統設置，讓參與者從實則例子了解更多此技術。
“Ensemble Transience: Composition & IMprovisation–Encore” has completed “Darkness | Sunrise: A Multisensory Immersive Experience” at the Yuen Long Theatre. The concert made use of the soundscape system, and was widely acclaimed. This workshop is designed for those in the music industry, as well as anyone who is interested in soundscape technology.
Curator and composer of “Darkness | Sunrise”, Teriver Cheung, will carry out a conversation with Masrcus Ho, who is responsible for music programming in the concert. The speakers will share their experience from the perspectives of music creation, as well as hands-on utilization of the system. Marcus is also going to re-create the concert’s soundscape setting, and let participants get to know more about this technology through the actual case study.

現今科技的進步令錄音的門檻大大降低，再加上一如各行各業在疫症下逐漸適應在家工作，音樂人也可以在家進行音樂製作。「跨界工作坊#4：在家錄音」邀請到屢獲殊榮的音樂製作人張德銘（Derrick Sepnio），分享在家錄音的設置和技巧，並以錄製弦樂作為示範例子。
是次工作坊優先予「Demo #2」的樂手參加，亦開放名額給有興趣的音樂人參與。
Technology today has made audio recording more accessible than ever. And just like any other trades that have adapted to the mode of work-from-home under the pandemic over the last few years, musicians can carry out music production at their own homes. “Crossover Workshop #4: Home Studio” invites awarding-winning music producer Derrick Sepnio to share how to set up and work around a home studio. The workshop will also demonstrate recording strings as an example.
Priorities will be given to musicians who are participating in “Demo #2” production. There are also some quotas open to any musicians who are interested.

《瞬．樂團–結構與即興第二回》在聖誕節帶來傳統工藝及音樂親子工作坊，歡迎大人小朋友一同體驗音樂的樂趣！
參加者將會跟薄扶林村竹藝匠人吳江乾師父認識傳統竹藝及應用，並用竹枝和村內天然大地資源製作敲擊樂器，我們更會利用參加者帶來的舊物升級再造，製作「土炮樂器組合」。工作坊最後更會有音樂人李婌嫻帶領爵士大合奏。
工作坊參加者請帶一個「你認為可以敲得響」的二手用具，合適的用具會被用來即場製作「土炮樂器組合」。
「土炮樂器組合」 將會於2023年1月7日「𣊬間音樂節」展出，參加音樂節的觀眾可以即場用師父製作的巨型竹紮結他及「土炮樂器組合」 即興Jamming。
On Christmas Day, “Ensemble Transience: Composition & Improvisation–Encore” presents a family workshop that celebrates traditional local crafts and music. Parents and children are welcome to join us for a fun music experience!
Under the guidance of the local bamboo craftsman Master Ng Kong Kin (吳江乾) in the Pok Fu Lam Village, participants will learn about the traditional bamboo craft and its applications, and make their own music instruments with bamboo and natural materials found in the village. The workshop will also make use of used objects brought by the participants, and up-cycle them into a “local instruments combo”. The event will be concluded by a play-together session led by musician Candace Lee.
Workshop participants are invited to bring one used object that can make sounds by hitting on it. Suitable objects will be incorporated into the “local instrument combo”.
The “local music combos'' will be exhibited at the Transience Music Festival on 7 January 2023. Festival audience members can jam with Master Ng using the instrument combos as well as a huge bamboo guitar installation created by the master specially for the festival.
